As we enter this season of Thanksgiving, we are reminded of the countless blessings that surround us—none more cherished than the unwavering support of our donors, community partners, and incredible volunteers. Together, you make second chances possible for the native wildlife we serve.
This month, we celebrate the triumphant story of “River,” an American Bald Eagle who came to us on New Year’s Eve 2023 with grave injuries and slim odds for release. Thanks to the expertise of our
Wildlife Director, Stephanie Hogan, and the tireless efforts of our dedicated volunteers, River defied the odds. Released back into the wild this month, she now soars once again, a symbol of hope and
resilience.
And hers is just one of the many stories of the more than 700 patients MWR has cared for this year.

Patient Update:
This month we admitted 37 new patients into care representing 21 bird and 2 reptile species.
